Dr. Jan Feingold is a wonderful Veterninarian

Our female labrador Star is 11-1/2 years old and has multiple health problems. Dr. Feingold has been caring for her all these years and has treated her like he would treat a family member, with skill, gentleness, and knowledge. During one emergency incident, we took Star to a vet near our home, but that office, which was touted on-line as being great, was terrible (didn't even help her problem and was far more expensive than Oxnard Veterinary Hospital - and wanted to run even more unnecessary tests). I immediately called Dr. Feingold (on a weekend) and he took the call, met us at his hospital, and gave Star the best and most effective care possible. I am thankful to Dr. Feingold for his personal service, especially since Star is timid around other people and animals. Jan even comes out to the waiting room to greet Star and to ease her nervousness. The staff are also kind, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I drive 35 miles to Oxnard because I truly believe Dr. Feingold is th

My parents continued taking our pets here for years for reasons I could never imagine. He is the worst. He doesn't seem to be caring or knowledgeable. When our dog first became ill he couldn't seem to figure out what was wrong, and he yelled and scolded us as if we had done something wrong or we didn't love our dog. Here we were spending thousands of dollars to help our poor little guy out and deal with him being sick and feingold was condescending and pompous. His prices are not as high as some other places, but still add up. He basically is a jerk, although his staff seem friendly. At times how ever they have looked young. Maybe they aren't licensed techs?? In either case. Feingold is ok for basic office visits, but for serious pet health problems the best advice is RUN! We did to VMSG in Ventura. It's top notch.

Feingold killed my cat, who died horribly overnight, the day after he treated him. The necropsy showed he was negligent, causing the cat's death. I won't go into details because he would probably sue me, though I could have sued him and won. He never took responsibility or apologized (even though I'd also spent thousands there over the years) and of course didn't offer to refund a penny of the $600 I wasted there the day before. He is burned out, sloppy, condescending and money grubbing. The best day I had there was when he was out and had another vet fill in for him. You people who give glowing reviews to vets simply because they manage to be polite and not kill your pet, are doing no one a service, especially yourself. You don't know if you don't compare or until the worst happens. Don't wait until you have to end up writing a review like this to feel you are finally being responsible. I look to these reviews to help me find good vets, and what I see is not very helpful. I
